Edmundo 2006
This compilation came out a bit easier. These last couple of years I've found myself probably listening to a less broad selection of stuff, but getting really obsessed with particular artists I've for some reason neglected in the past. Hoping to get back to the good old days of discovering more stuff though.

I actually didn't end up properly compiling this until the end of 2006. I had a little crisis - where has my life gone that I can't get it together to make a compilation any more! I had a playlist knocking around but I delayed actually putting it together. The mix has a lot of stuff from the 50s and before. And some other stuff that's newer obviously. I'm not so hot at being focused enough to make themed comps these days.

Organ Freakout
Mostly instrumental pop from that part of the 60s when things were extremely groovy, but not yet funky. It's quite a distinctive, dated, and enjoyable sound. Not every track features the organ, but I thought this picture portrayed that kind of groovy party scene too well for me not to use it...

This was a big one for me when I made it!
I have to say, I look back on that part of my life when I was living in the US, buying records all the time and compiling them, with some pleasure. I did write liner notes for this compilation. Total geek out. I will upload them here some time.

Women
I really wanted to put a compilation of my favorite female singers together. This contains quite a few of them, and some other random cool female vocal tracks that I discovered or rediscovered along the way (I love it when that happens!). I was surprised to find myself including a Cher track, but it has a tasty production in a similar style to Nancy's 'Kinky Love', so I couldn't resist it...
